HELP & SUPPORT

Get the right PDF
onto the right product.

Set up your document library, update a shared guide, or get help with a download.

Development alpha · This guide describes the current test version.

START HERE

Add your first product document

  1. Open Product Documents in your Wix site dashboard.

Use the store owner's account. You need Wix Stores and visible products to assign your PDFs.

  2. Bring in your products.

Open Products and select Sync Wix catalog. Sync again after changing products in Wix; updates are manual in this version.

  3. Upload and assign a PDF.

In Document library, select Add PDF, enter its title and type, choose a file, and confirm that it is intended for public download. Select the products that need it, then choose Save assignments.

  4. Connect the product-page section.

In the Wix editor, open the Product Documents section's settings on a product page. Choose Connect document library and wait for Connected.

  5. Check your published product page.

When you are ready for visitors to see your changes, publish your site. Open a product with an assigned PDF and select its download link. Products without assigned documents keep the section hidden.

Keep your guides up to date

Use one PDF on several products

Select the product-count button beside a document to edit its assignments. Checking a product adds the PDF there; unchecking it removes that assignment.

Replace a shared PDF

Choose Replace PDF, upload the new file, then select Preview affected products. Review the products before confirming. Every assignment then uses the new version. Earlier versions remain in private History.

Find missing documents

In Products, set the document types each product needs. Missing documents shows unmet requirements. A product without configured requirements is not included in that report.

Import assignments

Use Import assignments in the library. Download the product and document IDs, prepare the CSV, and review its preview before confirming. Imports add assignments; they do not remove existing ones.

Something not working?

I copied my Wix site

Each copied site gets a separate document library. To copy a library, use the same Wix owner account for both sites. In the original site’s Product Documents dashboard, choose Prepare site copy and create a one-use code. In the duplicated site’s dashboard, sync its catalog and choose Copy original library. Enter the code, review the preview and confirm public PDF use. Codes expire after 10 minutes. The destination must have an empty library with no document requirements set. Current PDFs, assignments and requirements for matching product IDs are copied; previous versions and the source activity log are not. Review any unmatched products and assign their PDFs manually. You can also upload and assign PDFs yourself.

A copied product-page section may still point to the original site's public library until you reconnect it. In the copied site's editor, open the Product Documents section's settings and choose Connect document library. Wait for Connected, then publish when ready and check a product with an assigned PDF and one without. Changes in the copied site's dashboard do not edit the original library.

The document section is missing

Check that the PDF is assigned to the product you are viewing, the product is visible in Wix, and your catalog has been synced. Open the section's editor settings and confirm the library is connected. Test the published page after saving and publishing editor changes.

The PDF won't open

Try the link on the published product page. Your browser may save the file to Downloads instead of displaying it. If it still fails, send support the public product-page link and the error you see.

My session expired or access was denied

Close Product Documents and reopen it from the correct Wix site's dashboard as the store owner. Opening a bookmarked dashboard address outside Wix may not provide the session the app needs. General contributor access is not supported in this alpha.

I see “Too many requests” or “Another request is still processing”

Wait for the time shown in the message, let any upload or sync finish, then try once more. If the message continues during normal use, contact support with the approximate time it happened.

The catalog changed before I saved

Refresh Product Documents and review your assignments or replacement preview again. This check prevents an older screen from overwriting newer changes.

My subscription ended or editing is paused

Use Check subscription in Product Document Manager. If Wix confirms the subscription or trial has ended, existing public PDFs and owner downloads remain available for a 30-day transition. The notice shows your cutoff date. Choose Export library records to save document details and assignments; download each PDF from its History. Re-subscribe before cleanup to retain the library. After cleanup the active library and versions are removed; private backups expire separately. A temporary verification failure preserves existing files. Contact support if verification keeps failing. Read the full access policy.

I removed and reinstalled Product Documents

Contact support before expecting the previous library to return. Recovery requires a support check during this alpha. Following a verified removal notification, the library is retained privately for 30 days before cleanup; expired files are not restored. After recovery, reopen the dashboard and reconnect the product-page section in the editor.
